Brice Lee, Former CEO of Dreamus Company, Joins bemyfriends to Lead Expansion of IP Partnerships and New Business

As co-CEO, Lee will oversee bemyfriends’ efforts to accelerate the growth of the Korean creator economy.

SEOUL, Korea – April 27, 2022 – bemyfriends, a global fandom business startup, has announced the hiring of Brice Lee, former CEO of Dreamus Company, as co-CEO. Lee will oversee partnerships with Korean customers and contribute to the expansion of bemyfriends’ domestic business. Going forward, bemyfriends will operate under the joint leadership of Lee and co-CEO Steve Seo.

Lee joins bemyfriends after having served as the CEO of Dreamus Company, a subsidiary of Korean conglomerate SK Group, since 2019. While there, Lee oversaw the development of the music streaming service FLO, and helped Dreamus Company expand to 300 employees and 250 billion Korean won in sales as of 2021. He also developed businesses with large domestic companies including SK Group, and with stakeholders including entertainment agencies and various intellectual property (IP) holders. Utilizing his deep expertise and capabilities, Lee will actively expand bemyfriends’ domestic business and partnerships, ultimately contributing to the growth of the creator economy.

"Ki-young Lee is an ideal leader for bemyfriends,” said bemyfriends co-CEO Steve Seo. “He’s someone who possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to the entertainment market, the tech industry, and platforms, and who shares our vision for the creator economy, as well as our passion to explore new markets and build this ecosystem."

"bemyfriends is ready to take a great leap forward based on its expertise in the fandom business, as well as its unparalleled technology and talent base," added Lee. "I’m excited to be a part of a team that’s sparking growth in the Korean creator economy."

Prior to joining Dreamus Company, Lee held multiple leadership positions at SK Telecom (SKT), SK Group’s information and communications technology company. He oversaw company building and mergers at SKT’s subsidiary, Unicorn Labs, and also served as the head of the Communications Platform Team. When modern IT business infrastructure was in its early stages, Lee guided the planning, development and operation of SKT’s T Phone service, ultimately growing T Phone into a platform with more than 150 employees.

On April 21, bemyfriends officially launched its bespoke fandom platform builder, b.stage, inviting any creator or brand to build their own unique platform. b.stage offers a complete set of tools that make it easier for creators to express themselves, share content, communicate with fans, and generate profits. The service allows creators and fans to form deeper bonds, and lays the foundation for the establishment of a true creator economy.
