SEOUL, Korea - January 31, 2023 - The global fandom business builder bemyfriends is expanding the scope of its fandom business as TVING, a Korean OTT media platform, opens a b.stage-powered fan community. b.stage, the all-in-one SaaS fandom business solution developed by bemyfriends, is being used in various fields like K-Pop, esports, broadcasting, content creation, and now OTT media.
TVING is a popular Korean OTT platform that provides a wide range of TV programs, movies, and overseas drama content, along with original content like "Yumi's Cells", "Work Later, Drink Now", and "EXchange".
On TVING's b.stage (tving.bstage.in), they use the survey feature to facilitate fan communication through the event "Reply TVING!". The event is linked to the official TVING app, supporting a wide range of experiences for its users. By holding this event, TVING hopes to provide genre fan communities with a greater space to share their content viewing experiences. In February, they will host the event “Reply TVING Animation!” to enable fans to recommend and share opinions on animated content.
TVING's b.stage will offer content like fan events, drama trailers, and highlight videos. Using the b.stage community, TVING plans to communicate with fans in real-time. Moreover, by hosting events that make it easy for fans to participate, they will give their fandom ownership over the content they create.
"In the era of fandoms forming around content, there are an increasing number of IP holders that use b.stage to communicate and form deeper relationships with their fans," says Brice Lee, co-CEO of bemyfriends. "As TVING is the first OTT platform that uses b.stage to strengthen its content fandom, we will do our best to provide our technology and know-how to help various content fandoms get the best fan experiences on b.stage."
On January 19, bemyfriends formed a strategic partnership with UTA (United Talent Agency), a major US talent agency, to take the fandom business to the next level for the global market. bemyfriends plans to export its knowledge and wealth of experience in building fandom businesses to the global market and make connections with UTA's clients. UTA's clients cover a wide range of categories, from entertainment to Web3. In addition, bemyfriends plans to serve as a bridgehead to strengthen the global fandoms of IP content owners in Korea, including K-Pop, dramas, movies, companies, and brands.
